Insomniac, Marvel, and PlayStation have officially revealed the first story trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The trailer follows the official San Diego Comic-Con panel for the upcoming release.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to the hit games, Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game will feature several returning characters like Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Mary Jane Watson, and Harry Osborn. New characters will also play a significant role, namely Kraven, the Lizard, and the main villain: Venom. The game will release on October 20, 2023, exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
Spider-Man 2‘s Story
The new trailer highlights Peter slowly losing himself to the symbiote and all the conflicts created. Miles Morales will be facing down the man who murdered his father, Mr. Negative. Plus, Venom seems to be brewing within the mind of Harry Osborn. Speaking of Venom, we get a glimpse at his origin. A scene from the trailer hints that he will be an alien from another world, much like in the comics. During the San Diego Comic-Con panel, Tony Todd, the voice behind Venom, revealed how the character takes a “joyous quality in his destruction.” Venom fans will undoubtedly find a lot to enjoy from this new interpretation.
Alongside the new trailer, PlayStation also announced a collaboration with Mondo on a vinyl soundtrack for Spider-Man 2. The vinyl collection is available for pre-order now, featuring artwork from Kris Anka, known for his work on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Insomniac also announced that Spider-Man 2 will get a custom PS5 console and DualSense controller on September 1. Those who own a PlayStation 5 can get the PS5 console covers and controller seperately. These items will be available for pre-order on July 28.
