SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will launch on January 26, 2024. A new trailer was shown during the RGG Summit Fall 2023 livestream, revealing several details about the game’s story.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the eighth mainline entry in the series, and its also known as Like a Dragon 8 in Japan. Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga will both be drawn into a major plot that takes both series protagonists to Hawaii for the first time.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Starts 2024 Off Strong
In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Sawashiro returns to inform that Ichiban Kasuga’s mother, Akane, is still alive in Hawaii. However, Kasuga is quickly drawn into trouble after arriving. This leads to the scene from the initial reveal trailer where Kasuga wakes up on the shores of the beach of Hawaii. It appears that even Hawaii is the site of major yakuza activity for one reason or another.
Kiryu arrives in Hawaii to aid Kasuga, and he will also be aided in Japan by returning characters from Yakuza: Like a Dragon such as Nanba, Saeko, Adachi, Seong-hui, and Joon-gi Han. However, Kiryu will also be fighting yakuza and his own unfortunate illness: cancer. In addition, Kiryu’s identity is revealed to the world once more, so the Dragon of Dojima is truly back in the fold.

Physical Edition Confirmed
SEGA of America and RGG Studio also confirm a physical release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on the game’s official website. Digital standard, Deluxe, and Complete editions will be sold as well. Deluxe edition contents include the base game and Master Vacation Bundle. The Complete edition includes Deluxe edition contents, the Assorted Outfit Bundle, Sujimon & Resort Bundle, and Yakuza CD Collection Set. Pre-orders include the Special Job Set with two new jobs and the Hero’s Booster Pack. Prices and more details are coming soon.
Once more, a Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth special trial version will be available with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. This new demo allows players to experience exclusive story content after completing the main story of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. As a reminder, the demo and upcoming title will take place directly after Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Lastly, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
