The Pokémon Company has announced a new event for Pokémon GO, known as the Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day. The event will take place on Saturday, July 19.
As the name implies, the event will feature Gigantamax Lapras. According to the website, you can also encounter a shiny version of the aforementioned Pokémon. There will also be a timed research opportunity starting on July 14, which will include 1 Max Mushroom and 25,000 XP. If you complete the timed research, you can unlock Dynamax Passimian. An event ticket will also available for $4.99. Further, the following event bonuses will be available:
- Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Friday, July 18, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. PDT
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
- 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles
- 2× Max Particles from exploring^
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently
- 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
- Two additional Special Trades can be made.
Recently, Niantic and The Pokémon Company revealed two new Adventure Effects for Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta in Pokémon GO. These legendary Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield were in five-star raids during Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global from June 28 and 29.
The newest Adventure Effects for Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta increased a Pokémon’s attacks or defense in raids and Pokémon GO Max Battles. By defeating each Raid boss, players encountered Hero of Many Battles Zacian or Hero of Many Battles Zamazenta and gained Crowned Sword Energy or Crowned Shield Energy.
Pokémon GO is available now on both iOS and Android. The next event will take place on July 19.
