To choose a story, you must clear through the opening bits of both Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. As for play order, there is no story that makes sense more than the other. However, there are a few play orders that can make sense depending on what you want to get out of Ever Crisis.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Story Play Order
One of the optimal story orders is as follows:
- Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier
- Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-
- Final Fantasy VII
This allows you to experience the games as they are in the chronological timeline. If you want to naturally see the progression of different characters and the world of Gaia, this is absolutely the choice for you. However, if you want a more streamlined approach, we recommend this order:
- Final Fantasy VII
- Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-
- Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier
This is the release order of the games, from first to most recent. Despite First Soldier releasing most recently, it actually is the furthest point in the timeline right now! At the end of the day, though, you should play in whatever order feels best! Since the chapters will be released monthly, these stories will be incomplete for quite some time. You’ll most likely end up just hopping around between the three games for the time being.
