Nintendo Direct Focused on Switch Titles Set for June 2024

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has revealed that the company plans to host a Nintendo Direct sometime this June. The presentation will be focused on titles launching for the Nintendo Switch, and it will not mention anything past that.

The key message with this statement is that this is the first time Nintendo has acknowledged the future beyond Nintendo Switch. The company confirmed that they will not reveal anything regarding the Switch successor at this upcoming Direct, but the reveal will occur sometime in Fiscal Year 2025.

In a statement on Twitter, President Furukawa revealed the following:

“This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.”

Nintendo’s June 2024 Direct will likely be a massive last push for the console. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD are both set to release by the end of June, which leaves an entire six months open for Nintendo to release titles.

Some titles that could possibly appear include the forever-rumored Zelda HD pack, including Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD, the Fire Emblem: Geneology of the Holy War remake, and even Metroid Prime 4. We’ll have to wait and see, but we will sure to keep you updated! It is going to be a very busy Summer, so keep it right here at Final Weapon for all the latest news.
