Tonight, Final Fantasy XVI Producer Naoki Yoshida finally confirmed that a PC version of the game is in active development. News about this release was promised to come before the end of the year.
Alongside this news, Naoki Yoshida confirmed that XVI will receive two waves of paid DLC in the future. Lastly, Final Fantasy XVI songs will be released for Theatrhythm Final Bar Line on November 1.
Final Fantasy XVI to Receive PC Release
This has been a long time coming and expected for fans of the latest mainline title. It was previously reported that the developers would focus on a PC version after launch. Considering the game has PlayStation 5 exclusivity until December 31, this version of the game will most likely not be released until early 2024 at the earliest.
The newly announced paid DLC will also assuredly launch on the PC platform, but we’ll have to wait for more information regarding specifics on that.
About Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI was developed by Creative Business Unit III, led by Director Hiroshi Takai and Producer Naoki Yoshida. CBUIII is behind the critically acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy XIV, which continues to grow each year.
Clive Rosfield is the main protagonist of the title, voiced by Ben Starr. He is the only playable character, as the game has a high action focus, or at least more so than previous Final Fantasy titles. Combat design has been directed by Ryota Suzuki, who was a key member of the Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma combat design teams.

Final Fantasy XVI was launched on June 22, 2023, exclusively on PlayStation 5. The release date for the Final Fantasy XVI PC version is unknown at this time.
