    Final Fantasy XVI PC Port Enters Production After PS5 Version’s Launch

    Another PS5 exclusive will come to PC.

    In a new interview, Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that a PC version of the new action RPG is on the way. Production of the Final Fantasy XVI PC port begins after the release of the PlayStation 5 version. 

    The Final Fantasy XVI development team plans to slowly work on the PC version after the June 22 release for PS5 according to an interview with Naoki Yoshida at Ascii. Yoshida did not share release window for the PC version. However, fans can expect an announcement after the six-month exclusivity period with Sony Interactive Entertainment is over. This means that Final Fantasy XVI will likely release after January 2024 at the earliest on PC. 

    “In regards to the development of the PC port, we plan to slowly work on it after release, Naoki Yoshida said in the Ascii interview (Thanks, Siliconera).

    The story of Final Fantasy XVI protagonist Clive Rosfield will be told from his teen years to his thirties. The world of Valisthea relies on the support of Mothercrystals, but the waning energy of these crystals invited the spread of the mysterious Blight. A power struggle for the blessings of the Mothercrystals and the Eikons will begin. Clive will grow strong through the use his sword prowess and Eikonic abilities. Moreover, the protagonist may chain these abilities together to unleash devastating elemental damage. Fans can expect side-quests, additional challenges, and much more in Final Fantasy XVI.

    Before launch, Final Fantasy fans may look forward to a new Final Fantasy XVI demo featuring the game’s opening hours. Players will soon experience a flashback to Clive Rosfield’s teen years, which Square Enix recently detailed in the April State of Play showcase. This new demo will be available via the PlayStation Store ahead of the full game’s launch. Save data from the Final Fantasy XVI demo transfers over to the full game as well. 

    Lastly, Final Fantasy XVI launches on June 22 for PlayStation 5.
