Final Fantasy XVI Shares ‘Salvation’ Launch Trailer

    The final trailer before launch.

Square Enix and Sony Interactive Entertainment shared the new “Salvation” trailer for Final Fantasy XVI during PlayStation Showcase 2023. The trailer provides another glimpse into what players can expect in the world of Valisthea this June.

The story of Final Fantasy XVI protagonist Clive Rosfield will be told from his teen years to his thirties in a grand adventure across Valisthea. The world of Valisthea relies on the support of Mothercrystals, but the waning energy of these crystals invited the Blight. A power struggle for blessings of the Mothercrystals and the Eikons will begin. Clive will go strong through his sword prowess and Eikonic abilities. The protagonist may chain these abilities together to unleash devastating elemental damage. It’s up to Clive and his party to take their own fate into their own hands. The new Salvation trailer highlights the story of Final Fantasy XVI as players head into launch next month.

Final Fantasy fans may also look forward to a new Final Fantasy XVI demo featuring the game’s opening hours. Players will soon experience a flashback to Clive Rosfield’s teen years, which Square Enix recently detailed in the April State of Play showcase. This new demo will be available via the PlayStation Store ahead of the full game’s launch. Save data from the Final Fantasy XVI demo transfers over to the full game as well.

“Titled ‘Salvation,’ the trailer sets the stage for what players can expect when they step into Valisthea next month, where we see the harsh circumstances faced by the Bearers, those born with the ability to cast magicks at will, and we see the truth that lies behind the Mothercrystals, long supposed to have bestowed blessings upon humanity,” Square Enix said in a press release. “The new trailer also offers a glimpse of the first steps of Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of the game, as he and his allies fight to take back control of their fate.”
