Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire Launches October 30

    Playable at PAX West 2023.

PLAYISM announced makaroll-developed deckbuilding roguelike game Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire will release on October 30 for PC via Steam. PAX West 2023 attendees will be able to try out the game for the first time ever this September.

Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire was previously showcased at INDIE Live Expo 2023 this past June. The game was confirmed to support English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese language options. The October 30 release date was announced today at PLAYISM Game Show 2023.

Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire Brings Magic and Deckbuilding this Fall

Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire is the long-awaited sequel to Phantom Rose Scarlet. Just like its predecessor, the new title features a unique draw-less card mechanic that relies on careful management of deck cooldown. Protagonist Aria must escape the phantom-infested Marion Magic Academy while attempting to recover her lost memories.

Players may choose between the Blade Class and the all-new Mage Class in the new title this October. The Blade Class is relatively straightforward, whereas the Mage Class introduces the strategic “Arcana” mechanic. “Arcana” is a resource that’s used while playing attack cards and replenished while playing certain cards.

Makaroll’s new game will be playable at PLAYISM’s PAX West 2023 booth. Attendees who play the demo will receive an exclusive double-sided keychain.

Here’s a developer message from makaroll, courtesy of PLAYISM:

“Hello, I’m makaroll, the developer and artist of Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire. My aim is to create an attractive single-player game that caters to both the fans of the previous title and newcomers trying it for the first time. With an improved gameplay content and an expanded storyline centered around the new protagonist Aria, I sincerely hope the game can become an endearing title in your game collection. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a fresh enthusiast of the roguelike deckbuilding genre, please look forward to a new adventure. Thank you.”
