    Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny Remastered Screenings Coming to Japan

    The official Twitter account of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED franchise has revealed that a remastered screening of the Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny will receive remastered screenings. The screenings will last from August to September.

    Sunrise/Bandai Namco Filmworks initially aired Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny in 2002 and 2004, respectively. In 2024, they’re releasing a new movie titled Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Freedom. More information will be revealed on the film in the coming months.

    The franchise’s official Twitter reveals more information on the upcoming screenings. The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Special Edition films will open on August 25, September 8, and September 22. The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Special Edition films will open on October 8, October 20, November 3, and November 17. They will be available for screening exclusively in Japan.

    On Crunchyroll, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED is described as follows:

    ‘The tensions mounted between the Earth Alliance and the ZAFT Forces caused by the ‘Bloody Valentine’ tragedy have erupted into an all-out war.’ The Earth Alliance’s mobile armor forces and tanks launch…mobile suits are destroyed one after another…

    It seemed a foregone conclusion that the Earth Alliance, with its superior numbers, would be victorious. But this initial assessment proved to be false. Almost 11 months have passed since the conflict began, with no end in sight…”

    The entire Gundam SEED series is available on both Funimation Now and Crunchyroll. Lastly, the movies will premiere in Japan on August 25 and last until November 17. Gundam SEED: Freedom will premiere in Japan on January 26, 2024.
