Cygames and Arc System Works announced Granblue Fantasy Versus surpassed one million copies sold worldwide. The milestone was reached just two months before the release of its successor, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
During the EVO 2023 main stage event on August 6, Cygames creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara revealed Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will release on November 30. A “Free Edition” will be available alongside the Standard and Deluxe Editions, allowing players to try out the game before making a purchase. Fans may look forward to all of the characters from Granblue Fantasy Versus and its DLC in the new title.
Granblue Fantasy Versus Surpasses One Million Copies Sold
Over one million copies of Granblue Fantasy Versus have been sold as of August 9 in Japan. These sales include physical shipments for PlayStation 4 and digital copies sold for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. To commemorate the milestone, Cygames shared new artwork featuring Gran and Katalina.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising launches on November 30, and three editions will be available: Free, Standard, and Deluxe. Free Edition features four playable characters, part 1 of the story, Grand Bruise Legends, online play, and lobby access. Players may try out the Free Edition on November 30 and play with others who purchased the full release. Moreover, a second online beta test will be available in fall 2023. The beta test includes lobby matches, cross-play, and Grand Bruise Legends.
Cygames is planning to host a news show in September 2023. The upcoming news show will include a recap of information released in August 2023 for both Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Additionally, Fans may also look forward to Granblue Fantasy Fes 2023 on December 23 and December 24 at the Tokyo Big Sight. Granblue Fantasy Fes 2023 attendees will be able experience the mobile game’s world through several booths, stage shows, and activities before Christmas.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus launched on February 6, 2020 in Japan for PlayStation 4. THe North American and European releases followed up on March 3 and March 27, 2020 respectively. The Steam version launched on March 13, 2020 worldwide.
