Arc System Works announced Guilty Gear Strive has exceeded 2.5 million total players as of August 3, 2023. The developers want fans to “join in on the fun” during the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
Guilty Gear Strive will receive a “large-scale update” for Season 3, and DLC character reveals are likely on the way. The latest Guilty Gear title will be at EVO 2023, so reveals could happen there. While waiting on the reveals, fans may celebrate the latest player milestone through various video messages from the Arc System Works staff.
Guilty Gear Strive 2.5 Million Players and 25th Anniversary Celebration
New artwork of Guilty Gear Strive DLC characters Asuka #R and Happy Chaos was revealed to commemorate over 2.5 million players worldwide. Exact sales figures for Guilty Gear Strive were not revealed, but it might be the fastest selling title in the series if the player count is any indication. Shortly after the artwork was released, Arc System Works revealed several Guilty Gear 25th anniversary video messages from producer Ken Miyauchi, director Akira Katano, brand manager Takeshi Yamanaka, and general director Daisuke Ishiwatari.

Fans may also celebrate the 35th anniversary of Arc System Works by visiting its newly launched website. The 35th anniversary website features artwork several Arc System Works games including Guilty Gear Strive, River City Girls 2, and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Visitors have access to an entire timeline of Arc System Works from its founding on May 12, 1988 to 2023. Additionally, fans may learn more about ARC World Tour 2023 and view staff messages by visiting the website. The ARC World Tour 2023 final featuring the 16 best players for Guilty Gear Strive is scheduled for early 2024.
