SEGA Sammy published its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year ending in March 2024, revealing that the Persona series sold over 600,000 units from April 2023 to end of June 2023.
The latest SEGA financial results reveal notable sales growth for the Sonic the Hedgehog series during the first quarter of the fiscal year. Additionally, the Persona series surpasses sales from the previous fiscal year’s first quarter by over double.
Persona Series Moves Over 600,000 Units in Q1 FY2024
Roughly 630,000 units for the Persona franchise were sold from April 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023. This is a drastic increase from Q1 of FY2023, which saw 270,000 units sold from April to June 2022. Q1 FY2024 sales for the Persona franchise were also 130,000 units higher than sales from Q2 FY2023. No new Persona titles were released between April and the end of June, so the latest data most likely consists of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal remaster sales. Updated sales figures for each title were not shared, but more sales data will come in in SEGA Sammy’s Q2 FY2024 financials report.
The next major Persona release for the current fiscal year is Persona 5 Tactica. In Persona 5 Tactica, Joker and the Phantom Thieves are back with Persona Q2-esque characters designs. Players may aid the new original character Erina in a revolution as the Phantom Thieves face against the tyrant Marie in the Metaverse. The new title will feature strategy RPG gameplay with traditional elements from the Persona 5 series of games.
Following the release of Persona 5 Tactica, SEGA and ATLUS will release the highly anticipated Persona 3 remake, Persona 3 Reload, in early 2024. The remake includes incredible HD visuals, quality of life improvements, and stylish menus that are reminiscent of Persona 5 / Persona 5 Royal. The new remake also includes a revamped battle system, improved social links, new side stories, and an all-new English voice-over.
Lastly, Persona 5 Tactica launches on November 17 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Steam. Persona 3 Reload launches in early 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Steam.
