Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy XIV free trial will be expanded to include Stormblood content. The new trial will be available alongside an upcoming update for Final Fantasy XIV.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood is the second major expansion for the critically acclaimed MMORPG with the previous being Heavensward. The Warrior of Light must head far east to Kugane and Yanxia in efforts to liberate regions under the rule of the Garlean Empire, including Ala Mhigo in the west.
Expanded Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial Includes Stormblood
According to producer Naoki Yoshida, the Final Fantasy XIV free trial will include all Stormblood content. The free trial will take players up to the very end of the Stormblood main story scenario, which is right before the Shadowbringers story begins. In short, the Final Fantasy XIV free trial will include roughly half of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga. New players will have access to this new free trial at some point during the patch 6.5x series. Final Fantasy XIV is also coming to Xbox Series X|S, so Xbox gamers will likely also have access to the new free trial.

Those caught up with the game may look forward to Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, a brand-new expansion launching in summer 2024. Players will set out on a new journey in the continent of Tural, which is commonly known as the “New World.” Erenville and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn will join the Warrior of Light into this new land, but a new “contest” will divide the Scions into two opposing groups. Adapt to the unfamiliar terrain, make new allies, and discover the truth behind the conflict for the Mamool Ja throne in this new expansion.
Lastly, Final Fantasy XIV and the latest expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, are available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail launches in summer 2024.
