    Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Details Version 7.0 Update and Content

    Several changes are coming to Final Fantasy XIV.

    Square Enix reveals new details about the upcoming Version 7.0 update for Final Fantasy XIV and the Dawntrail expansion, which launches in summer 2024. Fans can expect a substantial level cap increase, new jobs, and so much more.

    In Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, players will embark on a new adventure in the continent of Tural, which is commonly known as the “New World.” Erenville and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn will join the Warrior of Light into this new land, but a new “contest” will divide the Scions into two opposing groups. Players must adapt to the unfamiliar terrain, make new allies, and discover the truth behind the conflict for the Mamool Ja throne in the new expansion. 

    Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail and Version 7.0 Update

    Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will release alongside the highly anticipated Version 7.0 update, which implements a major graphical update. As a reminder, Dawntrail and Version 7.0 will launch in summer 2024. The 7.x series of updates will bring more Duty Support and further graphical improvements over time. Moreover, Square Enix confirms Final Fantasy XIV will continue to receive support on PlayStation 4.

    Here’s a glimpse into what’s coming in Dawntrail, Version 7.0, and future 7.x updates:

    • First graphical update
      • Improvements to screen-wide aesthetic appeal, high resolution textures, improved material quality, shadows and foliage
      • Designed to improve while preserving the look of Final Fantasy XIV
    • Level cap increase to 100 increase, including Crafter and Gatherer classes
    • New skills for all Jobs
    • Two new DPS jobs
    • Core battle content
      • Fates, The Hunt, Treasure Hunts, side quests, etc.
    • New dungeons (Normal and Hard)
    • Valigarmanda boss battle
    • Duty Support update
    • New Gear and Recipes
    • New feature similar to Island Sanctuary
    • New Variant Dungeons
    • New alliance raid, which is apparently “very Final Fantasy” inspired.
    • New 8-player raid
    • New ultimate raid
    • Major update to Blue Mages
    • Inconceivably More Hildibrand Adventures
    • New plans for Deep Dungeons and battle content
    • PvP Update
    • Gold Saucer Update
    • Two dye applications per gear piece
    • Eyeglasses may be worn with headgear
    • Furnishing limit increase
