Nintendo have released its Nintendo Switch Summer 2023 Magazine digitally in English, allowing fans from around the world to read on the latest happenings for the platform. On the cover, Link from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may be seen eating watermelon in the hot sun. The new issue also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Famicom, which is also known as the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Nintendo updated its official Japanese website to release its Summer 2023 Magazine issue digitally in English. The company directly translated the issue’s contents from Japanese to English, so pricing and other details remain consistent with the market in Japan. However, the issue still provides a lengthy 54-page read about the Nintendo Switch’s latest games and the 40th anniversary of the Famicom / NES console.
Nintendo Switch Summer 2023 Magazine
Nintendo’s latest magazine issue includes special features for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, and the June 2023 Nintendo Direct. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom feature goes over the Kingdom of Hyrule, gameplay mechanics, beginner tips, and much more. This section may seem redundant for many who have played the game since its launch on May 12, but it’s a neat feature to browse through nonetheless.
The Pikmin 4 “Field Report” feature offers a preview into the full game ahead of its launch on July 21. Several elements from the game are recapped including Pikmin Traits, exploration, and Night Expeditions. The issue also reiterates that a free Pikmin 4 demo is available now in the Nintendo eShop, and Nintendo Account users who finish the demo will earn a special bonus with a linked Pikmin Bloom app.
Nintendo celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Famicom by highlighting the console’s unique features, peripherals, and games. These games include the original Super Mario Bros., Metroid, Bomberman, Dragon Quest, and Mega Man games. Moreover, Nintendo highlights many Famicom / NES games currently available now with Nintendo Switch Online.
Finally, the rest of the issue focuses on upcoming Nintendo Switch titles that were recently announced or showcased at the June 21 Nintendo Direct. These upcoming games include Disney Illusion Island, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince.
