EA has officially announced that a Black Panther game is in development. They have confirmed that a brand-new studio named Cliffhanger Games will be working on the upcoming release.
Black Panther is one of the most iconic comic book characters of all time. EA’s upcoming game will mark the first time he’s had an entire video game dedicated to him. Currently, a release date has not yet been confirmed.

In a blog post, EA revealed more information about the game and the studio behind it, Cliffhanger Games. The upcoming release will be “an original, third-person, single-player” game that “empowers players to experience what it is like to take on the mantle of Wakanda’s protector, the Black Panther.”
Cliffhanger Games is a Seattle-based company made up of several talents from the industry. Led by Kevin Stevens of Monolith Productions, the studio features developers from Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Halo Infinite, and more. In a statement, Stevens elaborated on what to expect from the release:
“We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game. Wakanda is a rich Super Hero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do.”
Further, they have opened job applications on their website and confirmed that the game is still “early in development.” Fans should stay tuned for more information about the Black Panther game in the future.
