    Final Fantasy XVI Receives a 39/40 Score from Famitsu

    Tonight, it was revealed that Famitsu gave Final Fantasy XVI a 39/40. This is great news for the title that is scheduled to launch tomorrow, June 22.

    Final Fantasy XVI Famitsu Score Revealed

    The 39/40 score XVI received is one of the highest scores Famitsu has awarded this year. This is one point higher than Final Fantasy XV, which was given a 38/40 back in 2016. Final Fantasy VII Remake received a 39/40 in April 2020, similar to XVI. This rating came from Issue 1803.

    Clive Rosfield is the main protagonist of the title, voiced by Ben Starr. He is the only playable character, as the game has a high action focus, or at least more so than previous Final Fantasy titles. Combat design has been directed by Ryota Suzuki, who was a key member of the Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma combat design teams. 

    A brand new free Final Fantasy XVI demo is available to play now! This demo allows players to play through two sections, the Prologue of FFXVI and the Eikonic Challenge.     Final Fantasy XVI is set to launch on June 22, 2023, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
