    Detective Pikachu Returns Launches October 6 for Switch

    The second major case for Detective Pikachu.

    Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak announced detective-mystery game Detective Pikachu Returns launches on October 6 for Nintendo Switch. The upcoming game is the long-awaited sequel to Detective Pikachu from the Nintendo 3DS. 

    In Detective Pikachu Returns, several mysteries are brought to the limelight in Ryme City. Detective Pikachu is brought onto the case alongside partner Tim Goodman in order to help the city’s people and Pokémon. The upcoming Detective Pikachu game will combine detective-mystery and investigative sequences with cinematic adventure according to Nintendo. 

    Detective Pikachu Returns pre-orders are now available in the Nintendo eShop. The game will be sold for $49.99, and customers will receive up to 250 Gold Points with their purchase. The eShop page confirms that the new title will be solely single-player, and the file size is 10 GB. 

    “Discover the origin of the great detective Pikachu! Partner with the tough-talking, coffee-loving Pikachu, who calls himself a great detective, to unravel multiple mysteries across Ryme City,” Nintendo said in a press release. “With the help of many other Pokémon, Tim Goodman and his talkative Pikachu partner work together to solve a series of mysterious incidents in this cinematic adventure game.”
