All Playable Characters in Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI is the first game in the series only to have one playable character, protagonist Clive Rosfield. Due to the game’s action focus, the development team opted only to make Clive playable. This allowed him to be incredibly complex and have a wide range of abilities and combos available.
Combat Director Ryota Suzuki led the charge on the combat of XVI. He was originally part of the staff that worked on Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma. Recently in a live stream, he stated that “[XVI] is my personal masterpiece”. He has high hopes for players all around the world to hop in and explore the world of Valisthea.
Is Final Fantasy XVI an MMO?
While some fans might be confused thinking Final Fantasy XVI is an MMO, it is a fully-fledged single-player experience all the way through. The development team of XVI is Creative Business Unit III, best known for their work on the hit MMO Final Fantasy XIV.
If you’re looking for a multiplayer experience, it is best to look elsewhere than XVI. While it might not have multiplayer or be an MMO, the game is shaping up to be a bombastic experience for Final Fantasy fans and newcomers alike.
