    Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Announced

    Into the animus once more.

Today, Meta announced several games for their upcoming new hardware. Called the Quest 3, it’s a follow-up to their last VR headset. Games such as a VR Samba De Amigo, a Stranger Things game, as well as a new Ghostbusters game, were announced. One of the more interesting yet vague announcements was the reveal of a new Assassin’s Creed VR experience.

Set to be released later this year, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will be the first official Virtual Reality game in the Assassin’s Creed universe. The game was first announced two years ago, along with a Splinter Cell VR experience. The latter was canceled, however, it seems that Assassin’s Creed Nexus is still alive.

The official post for Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR clarifies a bit more information. The tagline for the game is the following: “Become a master Assassin in this all-new Assassin’s Creed® game built exclusively for VR.” The tagline also confirms that the game will be coming this Holiday. The game will support Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro. It will also support touch controls and both sitting and standing player modes.

Currently, nothing is known about the gameplay. However, both the conference and the official post confirmed that the game will be shown officially at the Ubisoft Forward conference. Set for June 12th, the conference will also show off the other Assassin’s Creed games like Mirage and Codename Jade.

Assassin’s Creed and VR seem like a match made in heaven. Considering the entire franchise is based around the idea of using virtual reality to relive the past, the only surprise is how long it took for the project to get off the ground.

Stay tuned to Final Weapon for more of our coverage of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. We will also be covering the upcoming Ubisoft Forward conference set for June 12th at 1 pm EST.
