Ubisoft confirms the company will no longer attend E3 2023, and new plans have been announced for the week of June 12, 2023. A Ubisoft Forward presentation will be held on June 12 in Los Angeles, which is the same city that E3 2023 will be held in.
Although Ubisoft was one of the first publishers to commit to an appearance at E3 2023, the company is pulling back its support for the annual convention. The Ubisoft Forward presentation will take its place instead of a traditional E3 presentation. Ubisoft claims it has made the decision to “move in a different direction,” and it looks forward to sharing more information about upcoming games soon.
“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told VGC. “While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”
Events Planned for E3 Week
Nintendo will not be participating in E3 2023 alongside Ubisoft, but a traditional summer Nintendo Direct appears to be on track for the week of June 12. The company will most likely reveal new Nintendo Switch games releasing in the second half of 2023 during the summer Nintendo Direct. Moreover, a few new Nintendo Switch titles for the first half of 2024 will likely be revealed.
Microsoft will also hold its own physical event before E3 week with a Xbox Games Showcase slated for June 11. Additionally, a dedicated Starfield Direct is also on the way to showcase the new RPG by Bethesda Softworks. Once more, Sony Interactive Entertainment will not attend E3, but a State of Play presentation is expected nonetheless.
Lastly, E3 2023 will be held from June 13 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California.
