    PlayStation Showcase 2023 Announced for May 24

    Over an hour of new PS5 and PS VR2 games.

    Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a PlayStation Showcase event is set for May 24 at 1 p.m. PDT / 4 p.m. EDT. The live streamed event features a “wealth of new games and IP” coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2.

    According to a new PlayStation Blog post, PlayStation Showcase will run for over an hour. The live program focuses on games coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2. PlayStation Studios, third-party partners, and indie developers will feature new games at the event. Fans may tune into PlayStation Showcase by visiting PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.

    “The show will run a bit over an hour, focusing on PS5 and PS VR2 games in development from top studios from around the world,” Sony Interactive Entertainment said in a new blog post. “Expect a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as spellbinding games from our third-party partners and indie creators.”

    Upcoming PS5 Titles

    One of the next major releases for PlayStation 5 is Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XVI, which is a timed exclusive. In Japan, PlayStation fans may purchase Final Fantasy XVI-themed DualSense controllers and console covers to celebrate the upcoming release. Additionally, a PlayStation 5 bundle featuring Final Fantasy XVI will be sold in select worldwide markets including the U.S. and Japan.

    Square Enix is also developing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the next installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. The game takes place directly after the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Currently, the game is scheduled for a release this upcoming winter for PlayStation 5. 

    Sony Interactive Entertainment is preparing multiple games for PlayStation 5, including two new Horizon games by Guerrilla Games. One of these titles is a new Horizon title starring Aloy, and the other Horizon title is an online game. Further details about these new Horizon games were not revealed, however.
