PAC-MAN 99 Online Servers to Shut Down in October 2023

Online play gets disabled after two years of service.

Nintendo announced online servers for PAC-MAN 99 are shutting down on October 8, 2023. Although the Nintendo Switch title will no longer have online functionality, offline features will still be available.

The official Nintendo of Japan Twitter account confirms that PAC-MAN 99’s online servers will no longer be active starting October 8 (JST). Offline modes and paid additional content will still be available after service has ended. PAC-MAN 99 players have roughly five months to enjoy the online 99-player battle royale mode before it’s disabled. Fortunately, service for Tetris 99 appears to be unaffected by the PAC-MAN 99 shutdown.

Starting August 8, paid custom themes in PAC-MAN 99 will be discontinued according to the official website. One month later, PAC-MAN 99 Deluxe Pack / PAC-MAN 99 Mode Unlocks will no longer be available starting September 8. Lastly, the game and all free custom themes will be no longer available in the Nintendo eShop on October 8 as online servers shut down. Any purchased content before the deadline may be re-downloaded, however.
