Complete the ‘Tutorial’
First things first; you must finish the opening of the game and return to the land of Hyrule below.
Follow the Story Path
Follow your objective marker for the time being. The Main Quest in question is “To The Kingdom of Hyrule”. This will guide you to Lookout Landing. Here you’ll be tasked by Purah to check out Hyrule Castle and speak with Captain Hoz.
Unlock Skyview Towers and the Paraglider
Upon returning and reporting back to Purah she will mention the Skyview Towers. These towers are scattered all across Hyrule. She needs data from these valuable research points in order to map out the changes Hyrule has suffered from the Upheaval. The only one she can count on is Link.
The Towers act as a cannon and launch you up in the air. Only a skilled user of a paraglider can succeed at surviving such a process and procuring the data. Link is definitely a pro at using a paraglider due to his past experiences in Breath of the Wild.
Purah gifts Link a new Paraglider in order to allow him to accomplish this herculean task. The game has you activate this tower, which will act as a new fast travel point. The tower then outfits Link to prepare him for the task of scanning Hyrule’s new topology.
After being launched into the sky you are treated to a cool scene of Link flying up in the air, scanning the area, and then dropping from the sky. Use the ‘X’ button to pull out the paraglider. You can now use the glider however you want. You can speedily and safely travel the skies!
