Ys X: Nordics Gameplay Footage Highlights Combat and Mana Actions

Another look into Adol and Carja's abilities.

Nihon Falcom recently hosted its Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Media Competition Event, which also featured new gameplay footage of Ys X: Nordics. The new footage highlights several gameplay mechanics that were covered in previous news releases.

In Ys X: Nordics, Adol Christin and Carja Balta may use three Mana Actions: Mana String, Mana Ride, and Mana Burst. These Mana Actions allow the duo traverse through obstacles, open new paths, and unleash devastating elemental attacks. These abilities may be upgraded by progressing through the main story and obtaining stone slates. Falcom demonstrates these Mana Actions during the Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Media Competition Event.

Adol may take control of a ship to traverse the vast waters of Odelia Bay. Ys X: Nordics players may engage in naval combat by sailing toward enemies or vice versa. The ship is mounted with cannons, so players may fire away at enemies while maneuvering around the opposition’s cannon fire. Throughout the main story, players may upgrade the ship to strengthen its defenses and firepower.

Adol and Carja must team up to battle powerful bosses throughout the course of Ys X: Nordics. Players may activate Combination Mode, which allows Adol and Carja to fight at the same time to deal major damage with faster strikes. However, this comes at the cost of movement and dash speed. Combination Mode must be used wisely while fighting against bosses.

Lastly, Ys X: Nordics launches in 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
