Circana executive director Mat Piscatella published official video game market results for March 2023 in the U.S., which reveals Resident Evil 4 (2023) is the best-selling game of the month. The latest sales result also reveals that PlayStation 5 is the best-selling console of the month for the third consecutive month in 2023.

The reimagined title recreates the iconic scenes A brand new mode was just recently released, The Mercenaries, which recreates the classic mode from the original game’s release. This title is expected to get some sort of DLC down the road, which will continue to help push units. It is currently sitting at over 4 million units sold.

    PlayStation 5

PlayStation 5 has proven to be a powerhouse of the market, which has been driven by a strong first-party lineup. Last November saw the release of God of War Ragnarok, which was met with critical acclaim and millions of copies sold. This upcoming June, PlayStation has secured the exclusive rights to the next chapter of the Final Fantasy saga, Final Fantasy XVI. Additional software such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently scheduled to launch later this year.

Sony continues to invest in deals that are driving buyers to purchase PlayStation 5 consoles, as we saw today with the demo exclusivity of Street Fighter 6. With Resident Evil 4 being the best-selling game of the month, most of those sales were likely to have been on PS5.
