Monster Hunter Now Announced for Android and iOS

A new Monster Hunter experience utilizing AR.

Capcom and Niantic announced Monster Hunter Now, a brand-new Monster Hunter game for Android and iOS utilizing augmented reality technology (AR). Launching in September 2023, the upcoming mobile game brings Capcom’s critically acclaimed franchise to real world locations with a new social dynamic.

Built on Niantic’s Lightship platform, Monster Hunter Now uses AR and location-based technology to bring the franchise’s fearsome monsters to the real world. Players may hunt when and where they want at their own pace. Additionally, players may bring monsters home by using the Paintball item. This allows players to hunt the monster at home and bring friends over for co-op play. Several of Monster Hunter’s most prominent features will be available including weapon crafting, the ability to mark monsters, and much more.

Those eager to try out Monster Hunter Now may sign up for the closed beta test by visiting the official website. The closed beta test starts on April 25 and is limited to 10,000 participants. Moreover, invited participants will be notified via email, and all sign-ups will be enrolled to receive news and updates about the upcoming mobile game.
