Fire Emblem Engage Details Blacksmith and Support Conversations

    Sharing unique bonds with heroes.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems shared new details about Fire Emblem Engage such as the Blacksmith and support conversations via the official Fire Emblem Twitter account.

As previously discussed, the island of Somniel acts as the base of operations of Alear and the holy dragon army. Players may upgrade weapons at the Blacksmith with sufficient materials and Gold. The Blacksmith also has the ability to perform Emblem Engraving, which imbues the power of an Emblem into a weapon. This power may also be imbued on one weapon at a time, however.

Support conversations are a Fire Emblem series staple, and the social feature returns in Fire Emblem Engage. Units may have support conversations with Emblems as well, allowing Fire Emblem Engage’s new heroes to bond with heroes of the past. Players may raise the affinity between units and heroes from C to A just like in prior Fire Emblem games according to Nintendo.

Raising a unit’s support level allows for greater support effects and stat boosts as well. Players may raise support levels by having the corresponding units heal each other or attack enemies next to each other. As a result, having units that are adjacent yields its own benefits in combat.

Lastly, Fire Emblem Engage launches January 20, 2023 for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
