Meet Your Maker Gets a Release Date Trailer

An unconventional post-apocalyptic co-op game launches this spring.

A new release date trailer for the post-apocalyptic co-op game Meet Your Maker was unveiled at the 2022 Game Awards. The trailer shows off the game’s unique multiplayer concepts with cinematics as well as some snippets of gameplay. Players will be able to build outposts that other players will be able to raid. In addition, other players’ bases can be raided with a friend or by themselves.

    Two Genres Combined

Meet Your Maker appears to be a fusion between a tower defense game and a first-person shooter. Most, if not all content will be user-generated, with players being able to share their outposts with anyone who wants to take on the challenge. Furthermore, if other players fail to clear your outpost, you will be able to collect rewards from them. Hopefully, this reliance on user-generated content means that this title can have a long lifespan. It all depends on if it is executed correctly.

The game has you assuming the role of the “Custodian”, a servant of a being called the “Chimera”. The Chimera was created as a means to save whatever life is left on the planet. For the Chimera to evolve, the Custodian must gather as much pure genetic material as they can. How much this lore will be expanded upon is yet to be seen, but it’s about a good excuse as any to shoot up other players’ outposts.

Meet Your Maker launches on April 4, 2023. If that’s too much of a wait for you, players can sign up for the beta right now. This game is the latest project from Behavior Interactive. If you haven’t heard of them, you’re probably familiar with at least one of their titles, that title being Dead by Daylight. All things considered, Behavior Interactive could put the experience they gained with Dead by Daylight on display in this title.

Meet Your Maker will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
