The Game Awards 2022 set for December 8

    More details coming this fall.

The Game Awards showrunner Geoff Keighley announced The Game Awards 2022 is set for December 8.

The Game Awards 2022 streams live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California according to the official Twitter account. The show will stream for free worldwide across more than 40 different digital video platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok Live. Last year’s show delivered a record-setting 85 million global livestreams, making The Game Awards one of the Internet’s largest livestream events.

The show invites players to “celebrate the best video games of 2022 and see what’s next.” Many announcements and world premieres are expected from a variety of third party partners.

A new award category, Best Adaptation Award, will be introduced with this year’s edition of The Game Awards. The award celebrates adaptations of video games in popular film and entertainment media.

“The Best Adaptation Award is a way for the gaming industry and its fans to tip its hat to creative work that authentically adapts and often adds lore and context to our favorite gaming franchises,” said Geoff Keighley, creator and executive producer of The Game Awards. “With so many game-inspired projects across entertainment, the time is right to honor excellence in adapting video game worlds to other mediums.”

Lastly, more details about the show and tickets will be announced this fall.
