Tekken 8 Confirmed for The Game Awards 2022

    Bandai Namco announced Tekken 8 will be featured at The Game Awards 2022 on December 8, encouraging fighting game fans to “save the date.” A brand-new trailer is expected to be shown at the upcoming event.

    The official Tekken Twitter account released a new teaser trailer for Tekken 8, mirroring the end of the reveal trailer from the recent State of Play showcase. Bandai Namco tells fans to get ready and “Save the D8,” referencing the December 8 date for The Game Awards 2022. Further, various influencers and press were sent Tekken 8 merchandise advertising the upcoming live event.

    The State of Play reveal showcased the long-awaited battle between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima, the two Devil Gene carriers that plunged the world into war. Tekken 8 producer Katsuhiko Harada confirmed that the reveal trailer featured real-time rendered footage at 60 frames per second. Additionally, the trailer featured character models from the game itself.

    Tekken 8 is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Tekken 8’s release date is unknown at this time.

    Lastly, The Game Awards 2022 will be held on December 8 at 7:30 p.m. EDT from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
