Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Elite Four Hassel – How to Beat

    Tips for Dragon Master Hassel!

What’s a proper Elite Four challenge without a Dragon master? Hassel is just that! The Dragon-type is powerful, so you can fight Dragon with Dragon! I also recommend bringing rock, ice, fighting, and fairy Pokémon, as well.

    Elite Four Hassel ’s Team

    • Noivern – Lvl 60 – Type: Dragon/Flying – Moves: Air Slash, Dragon Pulse, Super Fang, Hyper Voice
    • Haxorus – Lvl 60 – Type: Dragon – Moves: Dragon Claw, Crunch, Iron Head, Rock Tomb
    • Dragalge – Lvl 60 – Type: Dragon/Poison – Moves: Sludge Bomb, Dragon Pulse, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt
    • Flapple – Lvl 60 – Type: Dragon/Grass – Moves: Dragon Rush, Seed Bomb, Aerial Ace, Leech Seed
    • Baxcalibur – Lvl 61 – Type: Dragon/Ice – Moves: Icicle Crash, Brick Break, Glaive Rush

    Tactics

You can definitely use your own Dragon-type if you wish, just be forewarned that it’ll be a back-and-forth battle like that. You’d absolutely need a ton of healing items to support such a reckless plan, too. I would diversify your team with some good Ice and Fighting Pokémon. Baxcalibur will fall easily to a good Fighting-type attack or two. Noivern, Flapple, and Haxorus are all weak to Ice and Fairy, especially Flapple with a four times weakness to ice. Dragalage can be taken down easily with Psychic or Fairy-type attacks. You don’t have too much to worry about in terms of super-effective counterattacks from Hassel’s dragons. They know a few moves, but when matching up properly it won’t pose much of an issue. Noivern and Flapple know flying-type moves so don’t bring out your Fighting Pokémon. Haxorus’s Rock Tomb poses a threat to Ice-type Pokémon, so watch out. Hassel will boost his Dragon Pokémon via terastallization. They have the Dragon Tera-type, meaning no clever type play. Just already powerful dragons getting a power-up.
