Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Elite Four Larry – How to Beat

Larry is back and stronger than ever!

Larry is back with a stronger team. His favored type is even different! He must have had a secret love for Flying-types. They are all dual-type so you won’t be getting off easy. Electric and Ice Pokémon are recommended!

    Elite Four Larry ’s Team

    • Tropius – Lvl 59 – Type: Grass/Flying – Moves: Air Slash, Solar Beam, Dragon Pulse, Sunny Day
    • Oricorio – Lvl 59 – Type: Psychic/Flying – Moves: Revelation Dance, Air Slash, Teeter Dance, Icy Wind
    • Altaria – Lvl 59 – Type: Dragon/Flying – Moves: Moonblast, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse
    • Staraptor – Lvl 59 – Type: Normal/Flying – Moves: Facade, Brave Bird, Close Combat, Thief
    • Flamigo – Lvl 60 – Type: Flying/Fighting – Moves: Brave Bird, Close Combat, Throat Chop, Liquidation

Ice has a clear advantage over many of Larry’s Pokémon. Ice does beat Flying-type, and some of the other types of his Pokémon include Grass and Dragon. His Flamigo is Fighting-type so be careful using Ice Pokémon against it. His other Pokémon also have moves dangerous to Ice types such as Flamethrower (which Sunny Day will strengthen), Close Combat, and Throat Chop. Electric Pokémon will do well against Flamigo, Staraptor, and Oricorio. Good news is that none of his Pokémon know any ground-type attacks, making Electric-type Pokémon a pretty safe bet! Larry uses Tera-types much like how he did in his Gym Leader fight. His Pokémon all have the Flying Tera-type, so their types won’t change really. They will still get the boost from being terastallized though, so watch out!
