Gran Turismo 7 update teases return of the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak

Polyphony Digital CEO and Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi teased another new update for Gran Turismo 7. The new Gran Turismo 7 update arrives during the week of June 20 with the return of a legendary hillclimb car.

Yamauchi posted a teaser image on Twitter featuring silhouettes of 3 cars coming with the update. The top car teased in the image is almost certainly the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak. The Pikes Peak car is among one of the series’ fan-favorites with its first appearance made in Gran Turismo 2. The 1000HP machine is known for blazing fast speeds on tarmac and dirt.

The other two cars are being speculated as the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo Gr. 3 and a modified 1932 Ford Roadster. Specifics about the new update were not shared, but the update is expected to bring new events just like update 1.15. These new events could focus on the newly introduced cars such as the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak.

New features are in the works for Gran Turismo 7 such as the ability to sell cars. Polyphony Digital previously confirmed post-launch updates would add cars, events, tracks, and features on a monthly basis.

Gran Turismo 7 is currently available now for PS4 and PS5. Lastly, read up on our review of the stellar racing simulator here.
