    State of Play set for June 2nd with new game reveals, PlayStation VR 2 sneak peek

    PlayStation announced that a State of Play showcase is set for June 2nd at 6 PM EDT. The showcase features new game reveals, updates, and a sneak peek into PlayStation VR 2. Several games are in development for PlayStation VR 2 and will be shown during the event. The State of Play showcase will run for 30 minutes.

    SIE CEO Jim Ryan recently confirmed that over 20 major games are coming to PlayStation VR 2 at launch. These games include major first-party titles from PlayStation and third-party partners. Some of these games will finally be shown off during State of Play on June 2nd.

    Many upcoming games from major publishers such as Square Enix and Capcom are due for a summer. A new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI is complete according to Naoki Yoshida and could be revealed at the showcase. Additionally, Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary news is set for this June, implying that Final Fantasy VII Remake related news is on the way.

    PlayStation has 2 unannounced live service games releasing before March 31st, 2023. The end of March 2023 also marks the end of Sony’s current fiscal year. One of these new live service games could be revealed as early as June 2nd during the showcase.
