Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope to release by March 31st, 2023

    Ubisoft’s year-end results for the past fiscal year provides a release window for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Thanks, Stephen Totilo). The new Switch game is expected to release before March 31st, 2023. This means that Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is on track for Ubisoft’s current fiscal year which also includes Skull & Bones. Fans can expect more news about the new Mario + Rabbids game at a summer Nintendo Direct.

    Ubisoft promises free-to-play games to launch within the same fiscal year, likely referring to franchises such as The Division and Ghost Recon. A new Avatar game is also scheduled to release before March 31st of next year. More news about upcoming titles is expected to arrive this summer with events such as Summer Game Fest and Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.

    The company is the center of rumors over a possible hostile takeover. Recent reports indicate that the Guillemot family is working with a private equity firm to acquire Ubisoft and maintain control. The news also caused Ubisoft stock to rise by over 10% with the company looking to maintain a large presence in the gaming industry midst ongoing controversy.
