Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link scenario is written by Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward writer Ruiko Fukazawa

In the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary edition of Famitsu, director Tetsuya Nomura shared a few details regarding Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link and Dark Road. The game’s scenario is being written by Ruiko Fukazawa, a credited writer from the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward development team. As previously announced, the new mobile game ties the gap between the end of Kingdom Hearts Union X and the beginning of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. Additionally, the X saga is considered an arc leading into the Lost Master arc.

*Update via @aitaikimochi* Nomura details the specific timeframe of Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link. The story takes place 4 generations after Ephemer was alive. The main family that carries his bloodline is known and those who do not are referred to as the “remembered” and “forgotten”. Players will see the dynamic between the two in the story.

The finale of Dark Road is being written by 2 female animators on the team. They’re hard at work to ensure that Dark Road meets the appropriate closing this August. According to Nomura, we will learn why Xehanort goes bald in the finale. Players may also look forward to the Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link closed beta test arrives in Fall 2022 for iOS and Android. The beta launches first in select regions, which will be announced at a later date. (Thanks, Ryokutya2089).
