Rumor: previously teased “big PlayStation remake” is reportedly Chrono Cross

A few months ago, Irish singer & songwriter AVA teased that a “big PlayStation remake” is coming soon with an announcement this December. As we reported, famed composer Yasunori Mitsuda and label PROCYON STUDIO were working remotely with fellow Irish musicians Michael McGlynn and his daughter Aisling on a new project this August. AVA worked with the group for this new mystery remake.

According to VGC and the XboxEra podcast, the remake is reportedly Chrono Cross which Mitsuda previously worked on. XboxEra elaborates by saying the remake is likely multi-platform (PS4, Switch, etc) and it was referred to as a “big PlayStation remake” because of its origins on PlayStation 1.

PlayStation might or might not be the ones announcing it themselves and as stated, its more than likely not an exclusive. Chrono Cross remake is yet to be confirmed so this is considered a rumor for now. However, its safe to say that a project is being worked on by the aforementioned groups, composer Mitsuda included.
