The latest rumor comes from VGC as it seems like Star Wars is gearing up for a new era of gaming to come. We already know Star Wars games will no longer be exclusively licensed through EA as Ubisoft is heading up an open world Star Wars game. For many years, fans have wanted another Knights of the Old Republic game but with Bioware being under EA, that serves to be a problem. Luckily, fans might be in for that long awaited KOTOR revival anyways!
Highly reputable Star Wars insider Bespin Bulletin states that a new KOTOR game is in development. This developer is supposedly outside of EA/Bioware and one we might not expect. Bespin also states that EA is working on a “smaller Star Wars game.” Here’s what Bespin had to say, courtesy of VGC:
“Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere,” Bespin Bulletin said. “I talked to a couple of people, and I also found out that Jason Schreier said that it’s not with EA, and we’ll ‘never guess’ who the studio is that’s making this game.”
Although the news is exciting, it’s worth taking with a grain of salt. Rumors revolving around KOTOR have been in the air for a couple of years now but with more reputable figures chiming in, it seems like there’s smoke to the fire.
