The Last of Us Part II Delayed Until May

The Last of Us Part II has been delayed until May 29th, 2020. Naughty Dog has confirmed in a PlayStation Blog post from the game’s director Neil Druckmann.

Druckmann stated that the title was moved from its original February 21st, 2020 release date.  This was done in order to give the game more polish and make the product the best it can be.  He also mentioned that it gives less pressure on the developers and reduced crunch time.

“It was during the last few weeks, as we were closing out sections of the game, that we realized we simply didn’t have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of polish we would call Naughty Dog quality,” Druckmann said.  The Last of Us Part II is highly anticipated. And is the sequel to the universally acclaimed title The Last of Us, which was released for the PlayStation 3 back in June 2013.

Mike Ybarra, who earlier in the month announced his departure at Xbox. Has been hired by Blizzard Entertainment to be their new Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Ybarra made the announcement earlier today via his Twitter account.  Ybarra was a twenty-year mainstay at Microsoft and Xbox. He will begin his new venture on November 4th.  He will also be attending this year’s rendition Blizzcon from November 1st to 3rd.

Many of his former colleagues at Microsoft congratulated him in reply to his twitter post.
