Warner Bros. Japan has revealed the promotional video, main staff and the 2027 premiere date for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kumo Kagyu and illustrator so-bin’s Blade & Bastard light novel series. HIDIVE will exclusively stream the Blade & Bastard anime for subscribers in the U.S., Canada, and key overseas markets, including U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Tomoki Kobayashi, known for his work on Akame ga KILL!, is directing the anime at Xingfu Entertainment. Naruhisa Arakawa is handling the series scripts, Rina Iwamoto is designing the characters, Kisuke Koizumi is the sound director, and Hayato Matsuo is composing the music.
The cast of the Blade & Bastard anime includes:
- Makoto Furukawa as Iarumas
- Tomori Kusunoki as Garbage
- Daiki Yamashita as Raraja
- Saori Hayami as Ainikki
- Shion Wakayama as Berkanan
Kagyu and So-bin released the light novel in December 2022. Drecom published the fifth volume of the light novel series on June 10. In June 2023, a manga adaptation was done by Fugetsu.
Yen Press licenses both the manga and light novel and describes the story as:
