XCOM 2 Collection has been rated for the Nintendo Switch in South Korea

XCOM 2 Collection has been rated for the Nintendo Switch in South Korea. This is great news for XCOM 2 fans, and it brings a huge third party to Nintendo’s hybrid console. The rating for XCOM 2 Collection was approved by the rating agency on January 28th, 2020. You can check out the approval below, as well as some information about the game.

XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year.

Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.

Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.

  • XCOM ON THE RUN: Take command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted to XCOM’s mobile headquarters. New open-ended gameplay lets you decide where to guide your strike team, how to grow popular support, and when to combat enemy counter-operations.

  • RECRUIT RESISTANCE FIGHTERS: Five soldier classes, each with its own skill tree, let you create specific soldiers for your tactical plan.

  • TACTICAL GUERRILLA COMBAT: New gameplay systems offer more tactical flexibility in combat. Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols. Loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts. Rescue VIPs and save fallen comrades by carrying them to the extraction point.

  • A NEW BREED OF ENEMY: A diverse cast of enemies from powerful new alien species to the ADVENT, enforcers of the alien regime, offer a distinct tactical challenge.

  • RESEARCH, DEVELOP AND UPGRADE: Configure and build rooms on the Avenger to give XCOM new capabilities on the battlefield. Use your Scientists and Engineers to research, develop and upgrade weapons and armor to fit your preferred tactics.

  • EACH MISSION IS A UNIQUE CHALLENGE: Go on missions around the world, from wildlands to the heart of the alien-controlled megacities, to the depths of alien installations. There are virtually infinite combinations of maps, missions and goals.

  • ENGAGE IN HEAD-TO-HEAD MULTIPLAYER: Mix-and-match squads of humans and aliens and battle head-to-head on randomly-generated maps.

Nvidia is moving to GDDR6 for all of their GPU offerings and even the GTX 1650 won’t be left out. Although the 1650 hasn’t received praise due to having substantially less performance to price compared the the 1660 Super and Ti, it will receive a GDDR6 upgrade. MSI has submitted new GPU trademarks to the EEC according to Gamer Meld, all including indication of GDDR6 memory. Improved performance is expected with the upgraded memory going from GDDR5 to GDDR6 but just how much it improves remains to be seen.

Remedy Entertainment working on an unannounced project and a live-service game

Following the success of Control, Remedy’s going to be busy for a while

Remedy released their financial statement on Friday, and it includes some interesting information about their current cash flow as well as what’s in the pipelines for the company.

As a whole, revenue for the company increased by 57%, which was mostly attributed to the success of Control, which released last August for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Thanks to this, the company has finished the first phase of their growth strategy, and this year will be focused on working on their current projects. Interestingly, the report states that Remedy has a goal of releasing at least one expansion/piece of DLC or game per year, so it seems like they want to remain more consistent as opposed to taking long breaks between releases.

As for what they have planned, Remedy says that it currently has four projects in development. Aside from the story campaign for Crossfire X, which was announced at Xbox’s E3 presentation last year, the developer is working on another Crossfire-related project with Korean publisher Smilegate as well as their own multiplayer live-service game entitled Vanguard.

Per their financial report, Remedy CEO Tero Virtala states that “the goal of Vanguard is to create a game that combines long-term service-based multiplayer experiences with some of Remedy’s unique game features.” He also stated that Vanguard won’t run on Remedy’s Northlight engine, which powered Control and Quantum Break, and that it likely won’t be released this year.

Remedy also stated that they have another unannounced project in the works, although they didn’t emphasize much besides that it will be “based on the company’s own game brands,” likely meaning that it’s related to one of their already-established IPs. They also plan on releasing two expansion packs for Control this year.

While the rumor mill might be spinning for a while, it’s nice to see that Remedy is doing well and has multiple projects under their belt. Here’s hoping one of those is a new Alan Wake.

The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is the 5th best-selling accessory in the U.S.

When I first got my hands on the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, I instantly felt that it was a big difference compared to the Series 1 with improved grips and settings and the ability to manually tune your thumb sticks for looseness or tightness.  Just being released 3 months ago, it has made the top 5 best-selling gaming accessories in the U.S. and is much deserved, with number 1 being Xbox 360s Kinect with Kinect Adventures.

Video Games Industry Analyst Mat Piscatella revealed today in a tweet about the milestone the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller has reached.

The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is priced $30 higher than the Series 1, but if you want more options and better quality, it’s worth every penny.
