In Version 3.3’s main story, the conflict over the sky island of Roscaelifer reaches a new peak: traffic to the entire island of Booastrum is locked down, and the only way to get back in is through the occupied skyport — Quietude Isle. Forced to travel together, can Judge Phoenix and Commissioner Severian put their differences aside and truly join forces? The Proxy will also touch down on the island alongside Lindverne, inching ever closer to the truth behind the three Sunbringers and the Karma Cores within them.

S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent Phoenix is Krampus Compliance Authority’s second-in-command when it comes to combat. Thanks to her unique physique, she is extremely hard to bring down — the fiercer her opponents resist, the more her fighting spirit is fired up. Her Core Skill, Nirvana, can sear enemies afflicted by an Anomaly, allowing subsequent Anomaly DMG dealt to them to trigger a critical hit. Even if she suffers a fatal strike, Phoenix won’t be put out of commission. Instead, she can trigger Rebirth to revive on the spot with full health and jump right back into the fray. Phoenix will make her debut in the first half alongside the S-Rank W-Engine, Plume of Rebirth. Dropping in for the second half is S-Rank Wind Attack Agent Severian, a senior commissioner at New Eridu Public Security who won’t hesitate to use necessary violence to uphold true order. His Core Skill, Endless Breeze, allows him to automatically dodge an incoming attack and ride the momentum to launch a counterattack. After a successful dodge or hitting enemies with a specific skill, he can build up Energy to unleash even more powerful continuous slashes. He will debut alongside the S-Rank W-Engine, Incarcerating Grip.

As for reruns, S-Rank Agent Velina and the W-Engine Joyau Dore will be making a comeback in the first half, while Norma and the W-Engine Chief Sidekick will return in the second half. In terms of outfits, you can purchase Phoenix’s two brand-new outfits as a bundle at a limited-time 30% discount. Severian’s everyday uniform, Solemnly Impeccable, will also hit the store when his Signal Search channel becomes available in the second half of the version. The new update also brings fresh avatars, dynamic wallpapers, and trust events for both Agents. Plus, the all-new sidebar theme and pendant dropping in Version 3.3 can be claimed through the in-game New Eridu City Fund.

As for version events, businesses in Lumina Square are teaming up to host the “Night of Supernatural Tricks” event, and the HIA Club is rolling out a brand-new VR game, “Spooky Funhouse Tales”. Proxies can drive various styles of Trickmobiles and scare away uninvited funhouse guests, obtaining rewards such as an Angels of Delusion outfit, a brand-new A-Rank W-Engine, and fresh Proxy accessories. Additionally, in the “Cyber Miracle Healer, on Duty!” event, Proxies will need to flex their cyber miracle healer skills once more to fix Bangboo that have gone haywire after accidentally eating “toxic” chips. In the “Trails of the Hobbling Crow” event, Proxies have to track down the culprit who attacked Crowe, and in “Repair! Drifting Art,” they must piece together painting fragments lost at sea. Of course, the familiar Area Patrol and Combat Simulation double-drop events will also make their return.

In terms of gameplay, Version 3.3’s Main Story will deliver a brand-new mech combat experience. In the story, Lindverne will use her Karma Core power, “Genesis Reconstruction,” to create multiple High Ambitions Corp. combat mechs, which Proxies can then pilot to engage in combat with enemies. The mechs feature both melee and ranged attack modes that can be freely swapped. Furthermore, after using an EX Special Attack or dodging enemy attacks, you can unleash an even more powerful laser attack. Using the environment to shoot explosives or throwing heavy punches to launch heavy objects will make combat and puzzle-solving much smoother. This gameplay will continue to be available in future versions. Additionally, the permanent Hollow exploration, combat, and extraction mode, Enigma of the Labyrinth, is getting a seasonal update titled Spooky Trial. A Devilboo instructor who calls himself Master Devil will issue a three-round progressive challenge to Proxies. The Candle Cores obtained during the trials can be sold for the best price by comparing offers across shops owned by your friends or Outpost group members.

Version 3.3 also introduces a couple of system experience optimizations: Fairy will begin providing a team recommendation function, which recommends team lineups, strategies, and basic operational briefs tailored to a Proxy’s existing roster. The team lineups can also be applied to a preset config with a single click. Also, exclusive tutorial videos will be included for some Agents to help Proxies master them faster. During the Squad Configuration phase of certain permanent combat modes, the system will offer challenge tips based on the number of deployed squad members, enhancement progress, and team synergy. Proxies can also jump straight to the relevant guide with a single click. Additionally, Inter-Knot Reputation promotion benefits are displayed more intuitively, and the system will provide guidance or promotion reminders based on your Inter-Knot level and promotion progress. Furthermore, Proxies can claim a total of 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons from the new version’s check-in events.

Zenless Zone Zero is available now for PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows, Steam, Epic Games Store.
