Bandai Namco has released the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Once Upon A KATAMARI for $39.99 alongside the new Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC. As previously announced, Once Upon A KATAMARI supports mouse controls, smoother framerate, and improved HD graphics on Nintendo Switch 2. Those who own the original Nintendo Switch version can upgrade via a free patch to the Nintendo Switch 2 version and transfer their save data, provided there’s no existing save data of the Switch 2 version already.
The Once Upon A KATAMARI Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC adds new stages, 10 new quests, new songs, and new cousins (Jack, Patch, Milky, Catherine, Cameron, Phil). A bundle featuring the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Once Upon A KATAMARI and the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC is also available for $44.99 in the Nintendo eShop.
Once Upon A KATAMARI is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Players who have save data from either Katamari Damacy REROLL or We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie can unlock a playable Young King in the game. The Katamari Damacy Series Dance Dance Remixes DLC is out now with five remixed tracks.
Final Weapon reviewed Once Upon a KATAMARI and gave it a 4/5 score, noting that the game is “a strong return to the series that every fan should experience. Everything that made the originals great is still here, along with a few new additions. Not all of them land perfectly, but none take away from the fun. While it’s on the shorter side, the game’s replayability and incredible soundtrack keep me coming back for more.”
