Niantic has revealed new content that will be available in Pokémon GO during World Space Week Celebration 2026. It will be available from October 4 to October 10.
According to Niantic, Astronaut Pikachu, a new costumed Pikachu variant, will appear in either raids or Timed Research. In the case of the latter, free Timed Research will ask players to research tasks in order to earn an encounter with Astronaut Pikachu. The tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Monday, October 12, 2026.
Recently, Niantic announced that Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 will take place from November 6 to November 8 in Sendai, Japan, and Mexico City, Mexico. Those unable to attend the event in person can take part in Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global from November 14 to November 15. Tickets for both the in-person experiences and global in-game event are now available. As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, Niantic held an in-person event at Times Square in July 2026.
