At Tokyo Game Show 2026, I had the chance to attend a closed-door session covering Fate/EXTRA Record. Following a live gameplay demonstration and presentation regarding specifics of the game, we had the opportunity to ask questions of Aniplex Co., Ltd. Staff.
Here, I asked if there were any potential plans or discussions on bringing Fate/Extra CCC to modern platforms, whether that be via port, remaster, or remake, following Fate/EXTRA Record and depending on its commercial success. In response, it was stated that any potential modern version of the game was “undecided at this time”.
Fate/EXTRA CCC was released for the PSP in 2013, and the game acts as a sequel but also a side story to Fate/EXTRA. Since the announcement of EXTRA/Record, many fans have wondered about the possibility of seeing a modern version of CCC. At the time of release, CCC was the best-selling game in the Fate series, and there is still an ongoing manga adaptation in serialization, Fate/Extra CCC FoxTail. Unlike Fate/EXTRA, an English version of CCC was never released.
Fate/EXTRA Record will launch on January 28, 2027, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Physical pre-orders for Fate/EXTRA Record will be available through the Marvelous USA Online Store and participating retailers for Nintendo Switch and PS5, starting at $59.99 for the Standard Edition. The Nintendo Switch 2 Standard Edition will cost $69.99, with the game fully on cartridge.
