Ame no Chi Hare Onna Mobile Game Announced by Game Freak

Game Freak has announced a new game for iOS and Android, titled Ame no Chi Hare Onna. The game will release at an unknown date. 

Ame no Chi Hare Onna is a free-to-play “laundry” game that is influenced by real-world weather. Players will be able to enjoy a new type of daily gaming which is directly connected to weather forecasts across Japan. Currently, it is unknown if the game will release in other regions. Shigeru Ohmori, director of the Pokémon series and Pokémon Pokopia concept and senior director, serves as the game’s director and producer. 

The game takes place in modern-day Japan. It features Hare Onna, who is a magical girl that can turn weather into power and use it to brighten people’s moods. Her partner, Kumorin, is a messenger of the gods that grants Onna her abilities. The story follows the two as they seek to bring brightness and happiness to people across Japan. Hiyori Kono voices Hare Onna, who is designed by Aki Minamino. Yuki Nagano voices Kumorin, who is designed by Kyoko Abe of Game Freak. More details about the game will be available later today, when Game Freak hosts the first “Hare Onna Club Meeting” live stream at 19:00 JST on September 14. Here, the developers will discuss the game’s production process and introduce the characters alongside the voice actors. You will be able to watch it on YouTube. More information will be present during Tokyo Game Show 2026, which will last from September 17 to 21.
