The recently released Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has revealed the upcoming character Tagah from Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. Gameplay Group International and PM Studios will release Tagah in a free update later this year.
The game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account made the announcement, accompanied by a short video:
Tagah will appear in the upcoming film Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, which releases worldwide on July 25 after a fan screening at San Diego Comic Con on July 24. It will stream on Paramount+ and continues the story of the Avatar: The Last Airbender TV series.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game launched on July 23 for $29.99 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The developers have delayed the Xbox Series X|S version until September 3 due to “unforeseen circumstances on a backend feature.” The Nintendo Switch version of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game does not have cross-play and other languages beyond English at launch. Only the Standard Edition of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is currently available. The Deluxe Edition, along with cross-play and additional language options, will be available at a later date.
Final Weapon reviewed the game and gave it 3.5/5 stars, saying “Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will likely disappoint fans of the show and fail to ease a new audience into the genre. At the same time, it’s also a very good and refreshing fighting game. Instead of bringing Avatar fans into the FGC, this game is likely to make a sizeable portion of the FGC into Avatar fans.”
