NEXON has announced that The First Descendant x EVANGELION collaboration event will begin on June 18 with a new update. The First Descendant x EVANGELION will run through July 30, featuring the likenesses of Rei Ayanami, Asuka Shikinami Langley and Mari Makinami Illustrious.
During the event, players can earn and equip various cosmetics based on the three aforementioned characters, including the pilots’ Plugsuits, hairstyles, and makeup. There will also be a variety of EVANGELION-themed cosmetics, such as accessories, emotes, pin badges and weapon skins. Players can earn exclusive rewards, including collaborative name cards and photo frames, by completing various in-game missions, logging in, completing research, defeating Wall Crasher, and entering operation zones.
In addition, to celebrate the game’s second anniversary, NEXON will be hosting Descendant Fest 2026 on July 1 at 5:00 p.m. PT. The event will reveal the roadmap for the second half of the year for The First Descendant. In the meantime, cans can now watch the Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special Screening anime short, which was previously shown at the “Evangelion:30+;” event on February 21. The Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special Screening anime short is 13 minutes long and stars Asuka, who married protagonist Shinji and had a daughter in an alternate reality.
A new Evangelion anime is in development as the “Next Genesis” for the beloved franchise. Yoko Taro, most known for his work on the NieR franchise, is the series script supervisor and scriptwriter. The directors are Kazuya Tsurumaki and Tōko Yatabe. The music composer will be Keiichi Okabe, who has also worked on the NieR franchise. The studios developing the anime will be Studio Khara.
Following the reveal of the new Evangelion anime series, creative technology brand Wacom announced its all new Wacom MovinkPad Pro EVA Edition, a limited-edition package created in collaboration with Evangelion.
